Logic Pro X uses 64 Bit Plug-Ins only, they're a bit faster but consume more space.
Remember that 32 Bit Plug-Ins do eat less memory than 64 Bit Plug-Ins. but i still haven't used Logic Pro X much with it. I also have a newer Mac Yosemite 10.10.5.
A good option is to freeze the tracks that use such 'monsters'. The crucial fact may be: WHICH Plug-Ins you are using! Some of them are CPU-monsters and consume a lot of memory space. I still have a Leopard MAC 10.5.8 that is working fine with Logic 9. I wonder if anyone else experiences these kind of problems? I probably need a new mac haha! Click to expand. In Snow Leopard and Logic 9 5+ years ago I was able to run 30+ plugins with 40+ tracks in one session without any problems with CPU spikes/ overloads at all. I recently installed a new Seagate SSHD (with 32Gb SSD portion) which has significantly increased program/ OS loading times (OS boot is now only 15 seconds compared with over 1 minute with normal HDD) but I still can't seem to run large Logic sessions full of plugins any more since updating to Mavericks. It's probably in some ways down to how old my Macbook is It's a Mid 2009 13' Macbook Pro with 2.26 Ghz Core 2 Duo processor and the max 8GB RAM installed. The main reason I'm asking is because with the more CPU heavy plugins such as Kramer Tape/ CLA Drums etc I experience quite frequent crashing within Logic X and I'm only able to run a couple of those types of plugins per session without my CPU spiking and overloading constantly (in some cases almost every time I press play). Any insight into which version is widely taken as being the most stable in Logic X would be great. Any opinions or tips from people that regularly use Waves plugins would be most welcome!
